Digital Photography
Photography is sometimes only the beginning. I photograph the world as I see it, then digitally transform those images until they express what I felt.
I use my own photographs as a starting point, then rework them,digitally, using Procreate pushing Colours, texture and form until the image becomes something new
Painting
Some images come from somewhere entirely different.
Painting gives me access to a more instinctive, unconscious part of myself. Glory came from a dream and arrived with a presence all of their own.
I want to explore more of these inner landscapes when I am back in the studio.
Illustration
I have trained in children’s illustrations and enjoy creating playful, character-led work particularly for children’s stories and imaginative projects.
Earlier Work
My earlier digital work included a series of bold pop-art portraits exploring cultural icons, colour and attitude.
That project has largely reached its natural conclusion but it remains an important part of my development with colour and expression.
